Penny is the pup behind the production. Born in Portland, Oregon, she’s a Lagotto Romagnolo, a breed that originates in Italy (just like some of our leather) and specializes in truffle hunting. But instead of sniffing for truffles, Penny is our resident product tester! She’s a silly, cuddly member of our family, and the inspiration behind the Penny and Me designs. And I’m Jess, her person. With a passion for pups and quality, handmade products, I love making leather goods for pets and their people. All Penny and Me products are carefully thought-out and constructed from premium leather with function, style, and durability in mind. Penny and I know you’ll love them as much as we do!

We use high quality vegetable tanned leather that originates from two tanneries. The US leather we use is Wickett and Craig full grain English Bridle leather. You’ll find this in The Everything Leash and in the Penny collar. The Italian leather we use is Badalassi Carlo’s Minerva Smooth full grain leather. You’ll find this in The Taylor Collar and the Pick-Up Pouch. After thoroughly testing each of these options we chose them for their beautiful look and feel along with their unmatched durability. Our hardware is all made from solid brass and will not tarnish or rust. Our pups play hard and they need accessories that do the same! Leather and brass both patina beautifully so these products just continue to look better with age. We finish each product off with Smith’s Leather Balm for protection and extra layer of water proofing. The balm is made from all natural materials which makes it a Penny and Me favorite.
